Atelier Molleken
Rekha Molleken was born in Mumbai, India. She graduated from the university with Fine Arts degree and lived, worked and painted in Germany as a visual artist and floral designer before moving to Canada in 1999.
Having lived in both India and Germany she has been exposed to many forms of creative expression. She developed an innovative technique binding the two cultures which is unique to herself, her own. People are drawn to her unique style and artistic harmony coma leaving them the beholder in a peaceful, meditative state, whether greeting cards, collages, or paintings.
Her greeting cards are hand painted watercolors depicting an abstract form of florals coma scanned to perfection and printed on the superior karma textured paper.
Her colours are 3D layering of diverse fabrics and dry bona tickles painted to produce a visual, artistic harmony.
Her 24-karat gold leaf paintings use gilding technique that she developed over the years, finishing with a multimedia painting process, thus creating a luxurious elegant feel.
Now living on the Saanich inlet in the Victoria BC, nature and its endless supply of treasures throughout all seasons constantly feed her inspiration. She has experimented with mediums such as oil, acritic karma watercolors and gold leaf on canvas.
This has given her great freedom to express herself in the myriads of ways.
