Freebird Letterpress

Janine and Brett Sibley made the big move from the Vancouver area to Bowser, in 2016. Leaving the city and living near the sea has been a dream of ours for a number of years, says Brett.  When they came to Bowser, they knew they had found home.

I was an offset pressman for my entire career - it's in my blood, so when we saw how Letterpress printing is enjoying a new-found popularity, we decided to combine our love of printing and design, with this wonderful art form, as we move into semi-retirement.  This is how Freebird Letterpress was created!

People love the deep impression letterpress creates, whether it be extra thick business cards, unique wedding invitations, clothing tags or note cards. For our original starfish cards we chose 100% cotton fibre, paired with 30% hemp envelopes. They’re represented in 4 colours mixed by us and printed on a 1967 Heidelberg Platen letterpress, in our home studio right here in Bowser. The starfish card is the first of 
many designs we look 
forward to creating.
