While employed at various jobs within the helping professions, she explored watercolour and life drawing. As much as she loved watercolour, the call for more texture in the surfaces led eventually to clay. She took her first course in clay at the Nanaimo Pottery Co-op in 1990, and became hooked on the magic mud. Further studies included courses at the Arrowsmith Potters Guild and at the Metchosin Summer School of the Arts.
In June of 2002 she quit her 'day job' in order to pursue pottery full time. This leap of faith was accompanied by a fear that she would run out of ideas! This has not been the case and there continues to be more ideas than time.
She is currently a member of two pottery guilds and am involved in several sales throughout the summer and fall, apart from her participation as a member of Pyromania Pottery.
