Sue Macartney

Sue Macartney was born in a remote coastal community in British Columbia, She spent much of her childhood living overseas and early on reading, drawing and creating things became her favourite go-to activities.

She has also always loved nature. In high school her love of art competed with her growing love of writing and science. In the end she did both - first getting an MA in Anthropology then training as a graphic designer. Throughout she continued to explore her creative side and was propelled back towards writing and illustrating for kids when she became involved with the kidlit community.

Sue currently works as a nature sketch artist for The Bateman Foundation and lives in Victoria, BC.
